She asks questions.
If I see something, I will ask questions to gain a full understanding of the situation and how things fit together.
She speaks up.
If I'm asked to do something that I believe is incorrect, I will say something. It's best for us both to be on the same page.
She documents it.
My written procedures and updated processes cut a 30-hour task to 4 hours. Documentation makes things repeatable.

Questions owners ask.
What does Emergence Financial do?
Through Emergence Financial, Katie Anne Christopherson provides remote bookkeeping and accounting for owner-run small businesses anywhere in the US. She closes the books every month, consolidates linked companies and builds budgets and forecasts for owners who want them, each for one fixed monthly fee.
How much does Emergence Financial charge?
There are four packages. Monthly Books starts at $400 a month for one company. Books Plus Analysis adds budget against actual and a rolling forecast, starting at $750 a month. Multi-Entity Books covers two or three linked companies, starting at $1,200 a month. Clean-Up & Catch-Up starts at $750, and your monthly package begins after the project.
What happens on the free call?
On the call, I review your books, your companies and what you need, and we decide whether it's a fit. If it is, your fixed price is set on the call from your accounts, your monthly transactions and how many companies you run, up to three. That price holds for your full 12-month term and is only revisited at renewal, with no hourly billing.
Do you do taxes?
The packages cover bookkeeping and accounting, closed every month and kept ready for your tax preparer. Tax returns are not part of the packages. If you need tax work as well, raise it on the call.
Which accounting software do you work in?
Katie Anne has worked in Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP and Excel-based reporting, and has been part of teams that led moves to new accounting systems. Tell her which system your business uses on the call.
My books are behind. Where do we start?
With a Clean-Up & Catch-Up project, quoted on your company's needs, starting at $750. After the project, your monthly package begins and every month is closed from then on.
Where is Emergence Financial based?
Katie Anne works with clients anywhere in the US, remotely, so your meetings and monthly closes happen online.
